Maryland Blue Crab Chili

Made a Maryland Blue Crab Chili recipe I got from a friend today and it was awesome! They are from Maryland and shipped us some Maryland lump crab meat so that made it all the better! Here’s the recipe:


2 lbs of crab meat (do not use imitation crab)
1 can condensed tomato soup
2 lbs red kidney beans
2 lbs diced tomatoes
1 lb corn
1 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1/2 tbsp ground mustard
1/2 tbsp sea salt
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1 pack of chili seasoning
2.5 tbsp old bay seasoning


1. Combine all vegetable ingredients with water and soup in a large crock pot or pressure cooker
2. Mix in chili seasoning packet with a spoon
3. Once thoroughly mixed, add all the spices in with the exception of the old bay seasoning
4. Mix again until evenly distributed
5. In a separate bowl, mix old bay into the crab meat with your hands
6. Once the crab meat is thoroughly covered in spice, mix it into the vegetable mixture
7. After an even distribution is acquired, cook on low for 4 hours (crockpot) or 20 minutes (pressure cooker) or until heated through. Add Old Bay to taste.
